A little background to this site! I've loved Disney for as long as I can remember but living in the UK, the theme parks literally seemed a world away. That changed when Euro Disney Resort (as it then was) opened in France in 1992 although it was another four years before I finally made it there.
My first visits to the park where, of course, back in the days when it seemed extravagant to use, say, five rolls of film over the course of a holiday (and of course without having a clue what those photos would look like until the film was developed). On those first visits to the parks, I didn't actually take that many photographs (relatively speaking!) and focused on the obvious subjects - Sleeping Beauty Castle, Big Thunder Mountain etc. Thanks to the ever-expanding size of the SD cards, of course now it's possible to take hundreds or even thousands of photos without wasting film (yes, I appreciate this means that I come home with 20 photos of Sleeping Beauty Castle instead of maybe 1 or 2, but they're all at slightly different angles, honest!). And with that comes the freedom to take photos of, well, anything! There are so many detais to capture in the Disney parks. And so much food! A number of my photographs were featured in the 2012 Brit Guide to Disneyland Paris, which was obviously very satisfying. In 2004, my sister and I made it to Walt Disney World and this year I finally visited Walt's original Magic Kingdom, the Disneyland Resport. Reading trip reports on sites like Disney Tourist Blog has led me to investigate trips to Tokyo Disney etc but I think for now that remains a distant dream! Next up for me is a return trip to Walt Disney World at the beginning of November (to celebrate Christmas, obviously!). A lot of people in the Disney photo community (people with way more talent than me, even though my photography skills have improved over the years!) refer to "Flickr worthy" photographs. However, I've always viewed it more as back-up, online storage and am not so picky as to what I upload. I've dabbled with a few different websites over the years to feature my Disney photos, including Tumblr, where I originally used the www.disneyimages.co.uk url. It was after creating a new website for our showdogs that I decided to start this one, where I could be a little more selective, and move the domain name across. Of course this is going to be a slow process (did I mention I take a lot of photos?!). I'll post site updates in this blog together with links to interesting posts from other Disney sites.
