Since 2001, Disneyland's Haunted Mansion has featured a seasonal overlay based on Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas. Taking in both Halloween and Christmas, the attraction lasts from late September through early January. One of the highlights of the attraction is the giant Gingerbread House in the Mansion's Grand Hall, which changes design each year.
"it's a small world" was originally created for the UNICEF pavilion at the 1964 New York World's Fair and opened at Disneyland in 1966. For a history of the attraction, check out FreshBaked's video "Disneyland Secrets and History of it's a small world".
Galaxy's Edge is due to open at Disneyland in the summer of 2019 but in the meantime, an assortment of props and costumes can be found at the Launch Bay in Tomorrowland, alongside character meet and greets.
Paint the Night premiered in Hong Kong in September 2014 and debuted in Disneyland on May 22nd, 2015 as part of the 60th anniversary celebrations. The parade ran regularly until September 2016 before returning for seasonal appearances. It moved to DCA in April 2018 where it ran until November 2018.
Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT! opened at Disney California Adventure on 27th May, 2017 replacing the Twilight Zone of the Tower. The essence of the ride remains the same but now those sudden drops are set to one of Star-Lords's awesome mixtape songs. The Disney Wiki has a great article detailing the various artifacts that can be found in the Collector's "Tivan Collection", a number of which can be viewed in the gallery below.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off! debuted in May 2017 as part of the Summer of Heroes at DCA. View a video of the full show below the galleries.
Some general photos from my trip to Disneyland Resort last month in addition to the Halloween photos already posted.
Lots of new photos added to the Disneyland Character Gallery, including assorted Halloween outfits and the Tales of Adventure Breakfast Buffet at Storytellers Cafe! A few new characters for me this trip, including Rey, Black Panther and the Dora Milaje and, of course, the fabulous Edna Mode!
I've just returned from a wonderful week at Disneyland enjoying the Halloween celebrations. Unfortunately last Friday's Halloween party fell foul of heavy rain, leading to the cancellation of the parades, although on the plus side this did result in much quieter parks! Fortunately, I'd attended a party earlier in the week but I felt so sorry for those who missed their one chance to view the parade.
