A small update with photos from Dream-Along with Mickey added.
17 years ago today (and I can't actually believe that!) I took my visit to Disneyland Paris. My three friends and I met at Heathrow Airport before splitting up for a wander around the shops before catching our flight. When boarding was announced, two of us headed to the plane assuming we'd meet up with our friends on the plane. We didn't! Take-off drew nearer and the stewards came to ask us where our friends were. We explained that we had no idea but that we knew they were in the airport! Eventually, we were told that the plane could not take off with our friends' luggage on board and could we please go and idenfity it. Cue our fellow passengers looking at us as we walked to the front of the plane, wondering what on earth the hold-up was. Trust me, we were just as confused!
Bemused as to what could have happened (and really, we never did get a proper explanation!), we arrived at Charles de Gaulle Airport and went to collect our luggage. Except it wasn't there. The flight crew had removed our luggage, not our friends'! My suitcase turned up on the next flight (along with our missing companions) but not poor Tracy's. To this day, I still feel anxious waiting for my luggage to appear on the carousel.
And so, we finally make it to a Disney theme park - something I'd dreamed about all my life! Except our first stop was to see a travel rep in Festival Disney (as Disney Village then was) followed by an unscheduled train journey to a nearby town to pick Tracy up some essentials. Somehow, we managed to get separated on the way back from this trip too! When we finally made it inside the park gates, we were confronted with giant penguins headed our way...and promptly ran in the other direction. How times change!
One of the areas I was most looking forward to visiting in Disneyland was the Court of Angels in New Orleans Square. Prior to my visit, I was disappointed to read about the Pirate makeover but fortunately this was only temporary and I was able to see the Court untouched. Whilst I wish I had spent more time there (and taken many more photos), at least I got to see it once as it now looks as though the area will be closed to make way for the Club 33 expansion.
To read more about the Court, the expansion plans and to view photographs far superior to mine, visit the following sites:-

I've finished photos from my April/May trip to Disneyland Resort to the Disney California Adventure pages. Interesting to see which areas I neglected photography-wise (sorry Condor Flats & Pacific Wharf!)
It was on my visit to WDW last year that I really got hooked on taking character photos. Since then I've made repeat visits to the Princess Pavilion in Disneyland Paris and the Royal Hall in Disneyland's Fantasy Faire. So I was excited to learn that the Magic Kingdom's version, Princess Fairytale Hall, opens on 18th September. Disney Parks Blog have released the following sneak peek.
I suppose it's disappointing to note that guests will now only meet two princesses (Disclaimer - I met three on my previous visits to the Main Street Theater but as I'm, sadly, not a regular visitor to WDW maybe that wasn't always the case) but then Disneyland Paris only offers one princess at a time! So now I just need to decide whether to queue for Cinderella or Rapunzel!
Another website which needs no introduction to the Disney fan community! I can't begin to count how many valuable "working" hours have been spent reading this site and, in particular the trip reports (be sure to check out the latest series from Tokyo Disney Resort). However in this post, I thought I'd highlight some of their useful "Best viewing spots/photography tips" features. I'll update this post as new articles are added.
In two months I'll be off to Walt Disney World for the start of the Christmas season but I have to admit I'm already looking ahead to Halloween 2014 when I hope to visit Disneyland Resort. Well, it's never to soon to start planning your next Disney trip, is it?! In the meantime, here's a look at what's in store at the Resort this year.
